Dry with sunny spells this morning but during the afternoon showers will start to reach the islands southern coast and these will gradually move north as the afternoon goes on, turning heavy and possibly even thundery by evening.

Showers at first which are likely to be heavy at times and possibly thundery but as the night goes on the showers will start to fizzle out and drift back southwards into the English Channel. There will be some some mist and fog patches in sheltered rural parts as well as a slight frost due to clearing skies.
