♫ Dashing through the rain on a cold wet soggy sleigh! ♫
In all honesty it isn't quite as bad as it sounds although things will be rather damp, mild and drizzly throughout tonight and tomorrow with low cloud/hill fog and reduced visibility at times.
Min temperature tonight 9'c-11'c
Wind SW 28-35mph
Tomorrow (25th) will remain cloudy with light rain or drizzle at times but later in the day some heavy and more persistant rain will arrive and as it does so the winds will increase to gale force or perhaps severe gale in places.
Max temperature 10'c-12'c
Wind SW 35-45mph becoming SSW and increasing 45-55mph with gusts perhaps to 60mph or higher in places. Tomorrow night should see the rain clear through by around midnight and then it will become much colder and clearer.
Tuesday (26th) will start with some bright or sunny spells but it will turn cloudy once again as the next storm system moves in from the west. By late afternoon some heavy rain will arrive across our area with further strong winds and even gales in places. Wednesday (27th) will be much colder with variable amounts of cloud but also some brightness too. Through the day there may be a few showers that will fall as sleet or even snow in a few places!
Further low pressures will move through as we head towards the new year, some bringing further gales and heavy rain.
Even as we head in to January the unsettled weather looks likely to continue!
So definitely not a pleasant outlook with plenty of wind and rain on the way between now and the new year and even beyond for a time although we are expecting high pressure to start moving back in by mid January which will allow settled weather with frost and possibly fog but that is a long way off! Despite the weather we wish you all a great Christmas and/or holiday season and a happy and healthy new year!
