Showery outbreaks of rain, possiby heavy with hail and thunder, general showers later
This afternoon/evening
The main band of rain has cleared to the east and we are now stuck under a train of frequent showers which have merged into a more continuous spell of showery rain. Some of the outbreaks could be heavy with the risk of hail and thunder. As the afternoon moves into the evening the showers will be somewhat more scattered with more in the way of sunny spells but the risk of hail and possibly the odd rumble of thunder will remain.

Wind WSW 35-45mph
Tonight
Heavy showers will move through from time to time still with the risk of hail and possibly thunder. For a time the heaviest showers are likely to become confined to the southern half of the island.
Min temperature 8'c-10'c in the south and west, 6'c-8'c in central parts and northern parts, 5'c-7'c in eastern parts.
Wind WSW 35-45mph veering W for a time before backing WSW again later.
