Cloud with coastal fog, some brighter spells too. Sunny spells tomorrow.

Last night saw some extremely dense fog across the island. The visibility was so poor that here at IWMET Service we believe it to be some of the thickest fog we have ever experienced in urban parts of the island with rural areas experiencing even thicker fog! This image was captured on Shanklin Seafront around 1am.

Today
The rest of the day will see a mixture of cloud but also a few bright or sunny spells too although windward coasts are still likely to see some fog patches at times and these may be rather dense.
Temperature 19'c to 21'c but closer to 15'c on windward coasts and where fog persists
Wind SW 10-16mph becoming WSW 15-21mph
Tonight
A mostly cloudy night with hill and coastal fog at times, especially in the west and south of the island although more eastern parts could see a few clearer spells.
Temperature 13'c to 14'c
Wind WSW 9-14mph

Tomorrow
A much brighter day with sunny spells and broken cloud.
Temperature 18'c to 20'c in the northeast of the island 17'c to 19'c in most other places but around 16'c on western and southern coasts
Wind WSW 9-13mph becoming 6-11mph
