Hot today but much cooler with rain over the weekend.

Today

A hot day across the island with long sunny spells although areas of cloud will develop at times. Later in the afternoon/evening we may see a few thundery showers developing and moving in from the English channel. Temperature 28'c to 30'c widely with 31'c or 32'c likely in some places although closer to 23'c on windward coasts

Wind SE 8-13mph becoming SW much later although sea breezes likely around the coasts

Rainfall 0-1mm (localised rainfall possible)

Tonight

A very warm night with a fair amount of cloud around and the continuing risk of some thundery showers at times. Temperature 19'c to 21'c with the larger towns hovering around 23'c

Wind SW 3-7mph becoming WNW 4-12mph

Rainfall 0-8mm (localised rainfall possible)

Tomorrow

A fairly cloudy start although some bright or sunny spells will develop at times. There is still the risk of a few thundery showers which may become heavier later in the day. Temperature 26'c to 28'c in central and eastern parts but closer to 21'c to 23'c further south and west

Wind W 6-10mph becoming SW 12-18mph

Rainfall 2-6mm (localised rainfall possible)

Saturday to Monday Much cooler over the weekend with a few showers at first on Saturday followed by sunny spells. Sunday will start with sunny spells but showery rain is likely to push in through the day. Monday may see further rain at first but clearing and brightening up through the day. Temperature 17'c to 21'c throughout the period

Wind SW 20-30mph on Saturday, S 15-25mph on Sunday, SW 12-18mph on Monday Rainfall 3-8mm possible throughout the whole period
