Starting off with a lot of cloud across the area, with the odd patch of light rain possible. The cloud will gradually begin to break up though, with some brighter spells developing, especially as we move into the afternoon.

Temperature: 18–20°C, but as high as 21°C in some central and eastern parts

Wind: northwest or west-northwest, 12–21 mph, becoming 10–17 mph during the afternoon. However, in southern and western parts the wind is likely to turn a little more west-southwest during the afternoon and into the evening for a time, before returning to the northwest later

TONIGHT

Areas of cloud will continue to drift through overnight, but with a few clearer patches from time to time. Much of the cloud will be high and thin, so the moon should still be visible, although rather hazy at times. A few patches of mist and fog are also likely to develop later in the night and towards dawn.

Temperature: 9–11°C generally, but perhaps as low as 7–8°C in a few sheltered rural inland spots and river valleys

Wind: northwest, 4–8 mph, becoming north or north-northeast, 2–4 mph, with light and variable winds inland

TOMORROW

A few rural mist patches to start the day, but otherwise a generally fine start to Monday, with some areas of cloud around but also a few bright or sunny spells. As the day goes on, most of the cloud should break up to leave a rather sunny afternoon, although the odd patch of cloud will still drift through from time to time.

Temperature: 20–22°C, but closer to 18°C on windward coasts

Wind: variable, 2–5 mph, with gentle sea breezes developing around the coasts
