Morning update - Cloud and occasional sun today, long sunny spells tomorrow

TODAY

It will be a generally fine day, with a lot more cloud around than on recent days. Despite this, there will still be some bright or sunny spells at times. Temperatures will remain pleasantly warm across central, northern and eastern parts of the island, but it will feel noticeably cooler and fresher towards the south and west. There is the outside chance of a very light shower during the afternoon, but the chance of this happening is low.

Temperature: 23 to 24°C across central, northern and eastern parts, but 20 to 22°C further south and west.

Wind: West-northwest 8 to 14 mph at first, becoming west to southwest 15 to 28 mph by mid-afternoon.

TONIGHT

It will be rather cloudy through the first part of the night, with just the outside chance of the odd light shower, although the chance of this happening is low. As the night goes on, especially towards dawn, the cloud will begin to break up, allowing long clear spells to develop.

Temperature: 16 to 18°C across the island.

Wind: West-northwest 5 to 11 mph at first, becoming northerly 10 to 19 mph by dawn.

TOMORROW

It will be a fine, warm and sunny day, with almost unbroken sunshine across the island. Temperatures will gradually change through the day, starting off very warm everywhere before becoming cooler across the southern half of the island during the afternoon, as southwesterly breezes begin to push inland. Across the northern half of the island, the west-northwesterly breeze is expected to hold on, allowing the warmer conditions to persist for longer.

Temperature: 24 to 25°C across the northern half of the island, with one or two spots perhaps reaching 26°C. Across the southern half of the island, temperatures will be closer to 22 to 23°C, with 20 to 21°C right along the coast.

Wind: Northwesterly 9 to 15 mph across the northern half of the island, tending west-northwest. Across the southern half, northwesterly at first, becoming west-southwesterly and increasing to 15 to 28 mph during the afternoon.
