Morning update - Damp but becoming brighter much later today, heavy rain and strong winds arriving tomorrow

TODAY
A lot of cloud with a little patchy rain in places, although later in the day the cloud will gradually clear away to allow a few brighter spells just before sunset. Temperature 4-5°C Wind north 4-9mph becoming north-northwest Rainfall less than 1mm
TONIGHT
Clear spells at first will lead to a fairly widespread frost developing, although later in the night the wind will change direction and increase, as well as an increase in cloud cover along with the odd shower and this will lift the temperatures by dawn. Temperature -1°C to 2°C but closer to 5°C by the end of the night and as high as 8-9°C in the far south and west
Wind northwest 4-9mph becoming west then southwest and increasing to 8-15mph by the end of the night Rainfall less than 1mm with localised rainfall possible
TOMORROW
The day will start with broken cloud and scattered showers. although by late morning we will see some heavier and more persistent rain moving in, perhaps with some temporary squally winds for a time during the early afternoon as the rain becomes locally very heavy with the risk of hail and possibly even a rumble of thunder thrown in before the rain and the strongest winds move off to the east, followed by brighter conditions by mid afternoon. Temperature 9-10°C but dropping to 8-9°C during the afternoon Wind southwest 16-25mph becoming 29-48mph with possible gusts closer to 60mph early afternoon before turning west-southwest 25-42mph by the end of the day
