TODAY

A fine but rather chilly start followed by gradually increasing cloud amounts through the afternoon.Temperature 6-7°CWind west-northwest 15-25mph becoming 18-30mph for a time before easing again later

Rainfall (12.2mm fallen overnight at out lake station)

TONIGHT

The cloud will thicken further during the late evening to bring some patchy rain and sleet, although this will clear later in the night but remaining cloudy.Temperature 3-4°C but closer to 6-7°C around windward coasts

Wind west 7-14mph becoming variable 0-4mph before becoming west 15-26mph later

Rainfall 1-2mm

TOMORROW

Starting rather chilly but mostly dry, although a large area of rain will soon push in from the southwest, some of which is likely to be very heavy at times. There is the additional risk of some very strong and gusty winds (perhaps as high as 70-80mph) however there is considerable uncertainty with this at the moment as the exact track of the low pressure system is still rather mixed between various computer models.

Later tomorrow evening the rain is also likely to turn to sleet and snow in some parts, but this will be updated closer to the time. Temperature 10-11°C but falling later Wind west 10-19mph becoming south 5-11mph then southeast around the middle of the day before turning south-southwest 25-45mph during the afternoon, but with considerable uncertainty
