Morning update - Gales with rain arriving today, squally showers tomorrow

TODAY
A cloudy start to the day with rain soon following by late morning. Some very heavy spells of rain potentially mixed in during the afternoon before easing for a few hours around dusk. Temperature 6-8°C this morning but 9-10°C this afternoon
Wind south-southeast 25-42mph becoming 35-62mph locally gusting as high as 70mph by early afternoon before turning south-southwest 26-45mph by late afternoon
Rainfall 10-12mm but locally as high as 15mm
TONIGHT
Further spells of rain during the evening and the first half of the night, some of which is likely to be very heavy at times, although easing after midnight and becoming showery. Temperature 8-10°C Wind south 28-45mph becoming 32-58mph for an hour or two around midnight before turning southwest 24-46mph but increasing to 34-58mph by dawn Rainfall 10-15mm locally as high as 20mm
TOMORROW
A very showery day with just occasional brighter spells in between. Some of the showers will be very squally indeed along with the risk of hail and perhaps the odd rumble of thunder locally. Temperature 8-10°C but closer to 5-7°C in the heavier showers Wind southwest 32-34mph becoming 36-65mph although gusting as high as 75-80mph around the heaviest showers Rainfall 3-8mm with locally variable amounts
