Morning update - Locally heavy showers later, fine and sunny tomorrow. Frost alert tonight.

TODAY

After a fine, sunny start we will see the cloud bubbling up to bring a few afternoon showers that will likely be rather heavy locally, perhaps with the risk of hail and the outside chance of a rumble of thunder, although some places should just about manage to stay dry. Temperature 13-15°C Wind northwest 10-19mph becoming north later Rainfall 0-3mm with localised rainfall possible

TONIGHT

Any showers quickly clearing away to leave a cold, dry and mostly clear night. A slight ground frost is possible in some rural parts with perhaps a slight icing on the cars and the grass. Temperature 4-6°C but in some rural parts down to 2-3°C and closer to 7-8°C around windward coasts in the north Wind north 4-9mph but 1-3mph inland

TOMORROW

A fine, dry and sunny day with long clear spells and perhaps just a small amount of patchy cloud here and there. The air will still be rather chilly but the sunshine and light wind will make it feel deceptively warm, leading to a very pleasant autumnal day. Temperature 14-16°C Wind north 6-12mph
