Morning update - Rain clearing to brighter spells later with the odd shower, then further showers early and late tomorrow

TODAY

Morning rain will stay with us for perhaps another hour or two before clearing off to the east. The skies will break behind this with a few brighter spells developing, but still with the risk of the odd shower, especially later in the day.

Temperature: 20 to 21°C, perhaps reaching 22 to 23°C in the north and east

Wind: West to southwest 12 to 20 mph, becoming west 9 to 15 mph around the middle of the day, then turning west-southwest again and increasing to 17 to 29 mph later

Rainfall: 3 to 5 mm on top of the 15 mm that has already fallen at our Lake station

TONIGHT

We will see a few clear spells at first, but more cloud will develop later as showers move in off the English Channel, some of which could be rather heavy.

Temperature: 15 to 17°C

Wind: West or west-southwest 12 to 24 mph

Rainfall: 1 to 3 mm, with localised rainfall likely

TOMORROW

Tomorrow will be a fresh and breezy day, with a few showers at first. However, sunny spells will develop and most of the showers will fizzle away, with showers continuing further north towards the mainland. Across the Island, we should see little in the way of showers through the daytime, as the wind coming in off the Channel will weaken the showers for our area. However, towards the evening, the wind will turn more into the west to northwest, and as it does so, we may see a few showers from the northwest drifting back towards us late in the afternoon or into the evening. Any showers that do develop are likely to be heavy.

Temperature: 19 to 21°C

Wind: West-southwest 19 to 35 mph, becoming west to northwest 8 to 17 mph during the evening

Rainfall: 0 to 3 mm, with localised rainfall possible at first and again later
