Morning update - Sunny spells but cloud developing today, with more in the way of cloud tomorrow

TODAY

A fine day in general, with sunny spells to start. Areas of cloud will gradually develop by late morning and into the early afternoon, but there will still be a few sunny spells between the areas of cloud. There is the outside chance of a light shower, but this is pretty unlikely, with most places staying dry.

Temperature: 18 to 19°C, with the odd spot in central and eastern parts seeing 20°C

Wind: west-northwest 11 to 19 mph, gradually turning west 9 to 15 mph during the afternoon, then west-southwest 6 to 10 mph during the evening

TONIGHT

Areas of cloud will continue to drift around overnight, although there will also be a few clear spells in between. Later in the night, some areas of high, thin cloud will also move in, with the possibility of the odd shower moving in off the Channel towards dawn.

Temperature: 11 to 12°C generally, although a few rural spots could fall as low as 9 to 10°C later in the night. Where any breeze blows onto the coast, temperatures will remain closer to 15°C

Wind: west-southwest 5 to 9 mph, becoming variable 0 to 4 mph

Rainfall: 0 to 1 mm, with the risk of the odd shower towards southern and western parts

TOMORROW

A few bright spells to start, but also areas of cloud which will gradually thicken as the morning goes on, along with the risk of the odd localized shower at first. As we move into the afternoon, it will stay mostly dry for most areas, although there will still be the outside chance of a localized shower. By this time the cloud will have thickened up a fair amount, with only rather limited brighter spells.

Temperature: 17 to 19°C

Wind: variable 0 to 3 mph, becoming southwest or west-southwest 11 to 18 mph by midday, and 14 to 23 mph during the afternoon

Rainfall: 0 to 1 mm, with localised rainfall possible
