TODAY
Rain and sleet across the island and this will likely turn to snow over high ground for a time, perhaps with a slight dusting in places, although lower elevations are likely to see mostly just rain or sleet. Temperature 2-3°C in general but as high as 5°C in the far south and east at first and falling closer to 0-1°C in any heavy spells of sleet snow over high ground
Wind east-southeast 14-25mph becoming northeast then north later
Rainfall 4-6mm with sleet/snow over high ground and slight accumulations possible here
TONIGHT
A cold start to the night with icy conditions likely to develop, although the temperatures will rise slightly later in the night, but still with a ground frost likely in many places. Temperature -1°C to 1°C at first but rising to 2-3°C fairly widely later
Wind northwest 6-12mph becoming west-northwest 14-24mph after midnight
TOMORROW
A generally fine, bright but breezy day with a mixture of sunny spells and occasional areas of cloud moving through. Temperature 6-7°C
