Amber warning for storm force winds of up to 80mph with storm surge risk and minor flooding too

Tonight will start windy and mild with a little drizzle in places but over the next few hours some heavy showery outbreaks of rain will push in from the west and as it does so the winds will increase to severe gale force.
After the main area of rain clears through the cloud will break but still with a few showers here and there blown along on storm force winds
Min temperature 10'c - 12'c at first but after rain moves through 7'c - 9'c
Wind SW 45-58mph with gusts up to 70mph veering W or WNW after midnight at 53-65mph with 75mph gusts possible in some places with the odd exposed location potentially reaching 80mph
Tomorrow will start bright with sunny spells but also a few showers blown through on a storm force westerly wind. The wind will ease through the day but a further showers are possible although they will be well scattered and some places may miss them altogether.
The cloud will thicken in the late afternoon ahead of the next system approaching from the west.
