FIRST DAY OF METEOROLOGICAL AUTUMN! Morning update - Shower risk increasing today, grey and damp tomorrow
TODAY
A fine start to the day but the cloud will increase from the south as an area of thundery rain moves northwards towards the island, however it seems likely that the heaviest of the rain will have weakened by the time it reaches us by mid morning, leaving us with a few showers for a time before clearing to sunny spells and broken cloud, although still the risk of a few showers later this evening with only the outside chance of the odd rumble of thunder. Temperature 22-24°C but around 20°C on windward coasts
Wind northeast 9-17mph becoming east 5-11mph this afternoon Rainfall 0-3mm with localised rainfall possible
TONIGHT
We continue to see the risk of a few showers, perhaps with a small chance of the odd one being thundery although not everywhere seeing these. Mist and fog developing and becoming rather extensive later in the night. Temperature 17-19°C Wind south-southeast 2-6mph becoming west-southwest 9-15mph by dawn Rainfall 0-5mm with localised rainfall possible
TOMORROW
A grey, murky start with mist, low cloud and also some patchy rain and drizzle and this will be with us on and off all day. Temperature 20-22°C Wind southwest 9-18mph Rainfall 1-4mm with locally variable amounts
