Morning update - A fine start, showers this afternoon, rain tomorrow
TODAY
A mostly fine and dry morning with sunny spells and broken cloud, although the cloud will build rather quickly to bring the risk of a few showers during the afternoon, locally heavy and perhaps even the chance of some funnel clouds or weak waterspouts towards the eastern half of the island. Temperature 18-20°C Wind northwest 6-11mph but onshore breezes developing along the east coast for a time Rainfall 0-6mm with highly localised amounts
TONIGHT
Further showers are likely at first but these will soon drift out over the sea, perhaps becoming thundery as they do so, leaving the island with broken cloud and occasional clear spells before the cloud thickens up once again from the south towards dawn. Some mist and fog patches are also likely in the more sheltered areas. Temperature 12-14°C but a few rural spots as low as 10°C under any clear skies Wind north 6-11mph becoming northeast 9-17mph by dawn Rainfall 0-2mm with localised rainfall possible
TOMORROW
Showery rain moving in during the morning, becoming persistent with some heavier outbreaks, although perhaps easing for a time before returning later towards the evening, although there are some uncertainties to the exact position of the heaviest rainfall, so we may be issuing a warning today, but the details are still quite vague due to various predicted outcomes from different models. Temperature 16-18°C Wind northeast 14-25mph becoming northwest 8-17mph later Rainfall 5-10mm with locally variable amounts but still with uncertainty
