Morning update - Showers at first and again later today, dry and sunny tomorrow

TODAY

Heavy showers moving in off the channel to start the day, but these will ease for a time towards early afternoon to bring some sunny spells, before redeveloping once again by mid afternoon from the west, potentially becoming heavy with the risk of hail and perhaps even a rumble of thunder, although this risk will gradually shift offshore later in the evening and overnight. Temperature 17-18°C Wind southwest 17-38mph becoming 15-32mph by midday then turning west during the afternoon

Rainfall 1-6mm with locally variable amounts (24mm fallen overnight at our Lake station)

TONIGHT

Any remaining showers will soon clear away to give a mostly fine, fresh night with long clear spells and just the odd patch of cloud here and there. Temperature 17-19°C Wind west 9-18mph becoming west-northwest 8-14mph

TOMORROW

A fine, sunny day with just the odd patch of cloud here and there. Later in the day we will begin to see some high, thin cloud pushing in from the west. Temperature 18-19°C Wind west-northwest 6-12mph becoming west-southwest 11-19mph during the afternoon
