TODAY
Not a bad day ahead, with a mixture of sunny spells and areas of cloud. Although that cloud will gradually increase as the day goes on, perhaps enough to bring the odd shower here and there. But we're not expecting any heavy showers like we saw overnight.
Temperature: 20 to 22°C, warmest in the east and north, coolest in the south
Wind: west, 18 to 36 miles per hour, becoming 14 to 28 miles per hour later
Rainfall: 0 to 1 millimetres, with localized rainfall possible (9 millimetres fell overnight at our Lake station, with a maximum rainfall rate of 25.6 millimetres per hour)
TONIGHT
It will be a dry night across the island, and despite the cloud at first, we will see clear spells developing, and this will allow temperatures to drop away quite significantly compared to recent nights. Feeling quite chilly, especially in rural areas.
Temperature: 10 to 12°C in general, although perhaps as low as 8 or 9°C in sheltered rural spots, and closer to 14 or 15°C around windward coasts
Wind: west-northwest, 9 to 18 miles per hour, becoming 4 to 8 miles per hour later
TOMORROW
Tomorrow we'll see a mixture of cloud and occasional brighter spells, and perhaps the odd light shower coming through, but most places remaining fairly dry.
Temperature: 18 to 19°C across most parts, perhaps as high as 20°C in the north and east
Wind: west or west-northwest, 4 to 8 miles per hour, becoming west to southwest, 12 to 23 miles per hour during the afternoon
Rainfall: less than 1 millimetre, with localised rainfall possible
