Flurries at first but more persistent snow arriving later in the night which could give a covering by dawn.
Temperature -5'c to -3'c in most places but closer to -2'c in the east and south with wind chill of -10'c to -16'c
Wind ENE 35-42mph gusting to 50mph
Snowfall 0.5-1.5cm
Tomorrow
Light snow on and off throughout the day with some moderate and more persistent spells at times which could give a few cm worth in some areas although the strong winds will cause drifting. Later in the day some heavier snow is likely to arrive from the south.
Temperature -3'c to -1'c but 0'c to 1'c in the south and east with a wind chill of -9'c to -15'c
Wind ENE 38-45mph becoming 45-53mph gusting to 60mph
Snowfall 2-3cm
Tomorrow night
Further spells of snow are likely which may be heavy at first although likely to ease off later. Parts of the east and south are likely to see snow turning to sleet or rain through the night although central and western parts may see some freezing rain as well as snow at times which could lead to the formation of some dangerous stretches of ice. Temperature -1'c to 1'c in central and western parts, 2'c to 3'c in the east and south
