Morning update - Warm and sunny today and again tomorrow with an increasing breeze

TODAY

A very warm day ahead with long sunny spells and just a little patchy high, thin cloud here and there. During the afternoon, somewhat cooler air will gradually begin to work in from the west as the wind turns west-southwesterly, bringing cooler air in off the Channel.

Temperature: Rising widely to 23–25°C by midday. Through the afternoon, temperatures will gradually begin to fall back from the west, although central, northern and eastern parts are still likely to reach 26–27°C by mid-afternoon. Elsewhere, temperatures will be closer to 22–24°C as the cooler air works in from the west.

Wind: N–NW 9–15 mph at first, turning SW along western and southern coasts by around midday. The SW to WSW wind will then gradually spread across the Island through the afternoon, reaching the far north and east by late afternoon at 9–17 mph, becoming more westerly into the evening.

TONIGHT

Clear and dry across the Island throughout the night.

Temperature: Staying fairly warm at 17–19°C generally, perhaps remaining as high as 20°C around some windward coasts.

Wind: Variable 0–3 mph at first, turning easterly and increasing to 14–22 mph during the early hours.

TOMORROW

Another fine and very warm day across the Island, with long sunny spells and little in the way of cloud at all, although perhaps the odd patch of high, thin cloud may develop later in the day. It will feel warmest towards the west and coolest in the south and east due to a fresh easterly breeze.

Temperature: 21–23°C in the east and south, and 23–25°C across most other parts of the Island. The far west and northwest could reach 26–27°C.

Wind: E 16–28 mph, giving a fresh and quite gusty breeze at times.
