TODAY

A lot of cloud around, with rain coming and going and getting a bit carried away locally. There could be the odd brighter spell later in the day, although the wind will have plenty to say for itself as the day goes on.

Temperature: 9–10°C but windward coasts may remain nearer 11–12°C

Wind: West 28–45 mph by mid-morning and increasing to 32–55 mph around midday. West-northwest during the afternoon, 30–52 mph

Rainfall: 1–3 mm (6.4 mm already fallen at our Lake station)

TONIGHT

Showers developing through the evening, some locally heavy and perhaps even thundery. The heaviest will probably be to our south and east, but we can’t rule out the odd thundery one here either.

Temperature: 9–11°C, remaining around 12–13°C on windward coasts

Wind: West 20–38 mph at first, becoming west-southwest and increasing to 24–45 mph as the night goes on. Gusts locally reaching 60 mph in and around heavier showers

Rainfall: 2–10 mm, with large local variations

TOMORROW

A bright start with some good sunny spells, although cloud will begin to increase from the southwest during the afternoon. Some showery rain then pushes in, locally getting a bit carried away towards the evening.

Temperature: 14–15°C

Wind: West 18–30 mph, becoming west-southwest during the afternoon at 11–20 mph.

Rainfall (evening only): 1–3 mm
